Gado-Gado

December 27, 2010

“I don’t think America will have really made it until we have our own salad dressing.
Until then we’re stuck behind the French, Italians, Russians and Caesarians.” – Pat McNelis.

Gado-Gado, which translated is Fighting (ikr?), is an Indonesian salad. It is a mixture of blanched greens, fried tofu and tempeh, boiled potatoes and eggs, and a spicy peanut sauce as the dressing. Topped with prawn crackers, it is a pretty rocking dish. Although honestly, is it bad if I say I eat it mainly for the prawn crackers and peanut sauce?
